Mother’s Day Sewing

With Mother’s day around the corner I thought I’d engage in a little mother’s day sewing project: a relaxing heat pack. For one side I used a cozy natural flannel with a bit of decorative lace sewn on. For the other I found a little piece of silk with a blue donkey pattern, which, if you know my mother, is just perfect. The silk was very thin so I used a bit of white cotton to back it. It’s essentially just a rectangular pillow, though I did sew a double seam to keep the rice from escaping. The filling rice and the contents of two camomile tea bags, which gives it a nice sent, especially when heated.

Greatly appreciated by the mother in question — making good use of it.
